Laura Klingensmith works for Weber as the Executive Assistant. She has been in education for 22 years, and worked at the College Board for five years. She has worked for Weber for four years. She is a breast cancer survivor. She has two sons named Taylor and Cameron. She is the youngest of four girls in her family. During her time at Weber, Ms. Klingensmith has met many great students, coached Odyssey of the Mind, coached the Rube Goldberg Team, been a chaperone on class trips and Shabbaton and gained new knowledge in many areas. Ms. Klingensmith enjoys hiking, camping, photography, making jewelry and reading during her free time. She has four cats named Cali, Noomi, Brutus and Pepper.
Here is a rundown of a day in the life of Ms. Klingensmith:
On a normal day, Ms. Klingensmith wakes up at four o’clock in the morning and feeds her cats. She likes to prepare for her day by starting out in her kitchen with coffee and either do lunch or dinner prep. Then, she works out or walks and gets ready for school. She usually leaves her house around six o’clock, after checking her Weber email.
After her hour-long drive, she will check her email again to see if there are any emergency sub needs. She gets approximately 150 to 200 emails a day, which could be anything from meeting requests for teachers, parents or students, to professional development requests, purchasing requests or messages for Rabbi Harwitz and Ms. Van Dyke.
She will stay in her office for the majority of the day to make sure she is available for Rabbi Harwitz, Ms. Van Dyke, teachers or students.
She will send out permissions for upcoming field trips. Today, October 27th, she has five upcoming field trips on her agenda. Then she will go over her purchasing document to make sure everything is in order.
Ms. Klingensmith also creates contracts for Weber’s faculty and coaches. Today, she prepared contracts for the basketball coaches for the upcoming season. She also keeps up with parent group meetings and other things of relating manner.
She always keeps her to do list on her desk throughout the day to make sure she stays on task.
Finally, after a very busy day, Ms. Klingensmith will leave school around five o’clock.
When she goes home, she likes to be productive. She will feed her cats again. Then she will check her vegetables to see if anything new is ready and make dinner for Nick and herself.
