Review of iPhone X

Over a decade ago, Apple released their first iPhone, known as the iPhone 3G. Since then, Apple has released over eighteen different models of iPhones. From then, Apple has sold over 1 billion units. On November 3, 2017, the famous company released their newest model the: iPhone X (pronounced ten.)

The new model possesses many changes from the past releases. The most noticeable is the lack of a home button. This means no bezel or touch ID. Instead, the X has facial recognition. The facial recognition is very new to me. I do like it, and feel it has better security for your phone, but sometimes it does not always work. For example, when you are in a dark room, or outside at night, it may not work. I still prefer it to touch Id.

My favorite new feature is the 5.8-inch, all-screen display. I find the screen to be the perfect size, as it is the whole front. The large screen makes it easier to operate and see better.

The new iPhone X’s camera contains a dual-lens 12-megapixel rear camera. It has dual optical image stabilization. This is a system in the camera that stabilizes the recorded image or video by varying the optical path to the sensor. The new image signal processor provides a superior pixel processor and a new color filter, and both cameras use the new Natural Lighting effect introduced on the iPhone 8. Video has also been improved with 4K resolution movies at 60 frames per second and slow-motion video at 240 frames per second. According to Apple’s website, the X’s “new TrueDepth camera analyzes more than 50 different muscle movements to mirror your expressions” in the new Animoji.

The iPhone X shares some features with the iPhone 7 and 8. It has Portrait Mode which has Portrait Lighting on the rear cameras. All three models possess a lightning port at the bottom, speakers on either side, a power button on the right side, volume buttons on the left and all lack a headphone jack. Additionally, the iPhone 7, 8, and X are all water resistant.

But, only the iPhone 8, 8 plus and the iPhone X storage options are 64GB and 256GB. In addition, these models have the new wireless charging ability. Pricing for the 64GB goes for $999, and the 256GB goes for $1,149.00.

If you want to get your hands on one of these babies, you have to act fast. You have some options. You can order online or buy the iPhone X in stores. Although it may be tricky to get your hands on one, as the product is sold out at most stores, I definitely feel the new phone is worth it.
