The Cleveland Browns have been in a slump for the last few years. In 2015, The Browns ended the season with a record of three wins and 13 losses. The next year, 2016, their record was one win and 15 losses. The 2017 football season was a record low for them. Personally, I didn’t know it could get worse, but they ended the season with no wins and 16 losses. I was bewildered to see them play a whole season and never win a game.

I lost all hope for the Browns until I heard of the newest addition to the team during the 2019 draft. Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ) is one of greatest wide receivers in the NFL. The New York Giants traded Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns for first- and third-round picks. The New York Giants received safety Jabrill Peppers.

Having OBJ play for the Browns could give fans a lot more optimism for the outcome of the upcoming season. OBJ threw two of the farthest touchdown passes for the Giants’ season in 2018. In week five, the Giants went against Carolina and OBJ threw a 57-yard pass to Saquon Barkley that resulted in a great touchdown, but the Giants still ended with a loss. Eight weeks later, he threw another deep ball for six; to his former teammate from Louisiana State University, Russell Shepard.

The Undefeated wrote, “becoming the fastest player to ink 3,500 receiving yards in the record books did not lead me to this conclusion. Being the fastest to 200 receptions didn’t do it, either. It wasn’t because he is the only player in NFL history who has had four consecutive games with 130 or more receiving yards. Was it because he is the only player in NFL history with 75 or more receptions in his first 11 games? Nah.”

OBJ is being reunited with a former teammate from Louisiana State University, Jarvis Landry. Although the Browns do not have a great defense, they have an incredible offense.

Jarvis Landry is a wide receiver, Baker Mayfield is a quarterback, Nick Chubb is a running back, Odell Beckham is a wide receiver and Kareem Hunt is a running back. These five players are team players who communicate, work together and strive for greatness. With these main players, the Browns will be able to thrive through the season.
